3 - X1950 XTX: Anatomy

The GIGABYTE X1950XTX is a huge card with about 230 mm long from the backplane to the power connector. It requires two slots in height. Its weight is 840 grams, so it is recommended to properly fix it on the motherboard which must have a good quality PCIExpress slot...

Like most of manufacturers, GIGABYTE offers a X1950XTX featuring red flamboyant ATI ventirad. Besides, it is this ventirad (made of copper) that is heavy. The ventirad, with a heat-pipe system, completely hides all elements that produce some heat: the GPU of course but also the eight 64Mb DDR4 modules.
