3 - 8600 GT: Anatomy
The ASUS 8600 GT is a card of about 175 mm long from the backplane to the end for a weight of 380 grammes.
The 8600 GT Silent Edition of ASUS is a passively cooled graphics card: 0 db in running (noiseless cooling).
But this massive heatsink has limits and even gets burning when the 8600 GT has been tortured with the fur benchmark stress test.
So it is recommended, in case of intensive 3D use, to have a well aired case or to add a small fan to the heatseak.
The ASUS 8600GT uses two slots in height. It is equipped with an SLI connector which
makes it possible to connect two 8600 GT in order to build up an SLI system.
This card is provided with two DVI connectors and a S-Video connector.
