The GeForce GTX 280 is a card of about 268 mm long from the backplane to the end for a weight greater than 500 grammes. This GTX 280 is a graphics card equiped with an active cooler with the recognizable style of all GeForce GTX 200 series.

New thing: a LED on the header bracket indicates the quality of the power supply: red if not adequately powered else green if everything is ok.

The GTX 280 is shipped with two PCI-Express power connectors: 6-pin and 8-pin. This GeForce GTX 280 requires a 550W power supply at least (40A on 12V rail). The GTX 280 has also the connectors for SLI as well as for Triple SLI.

The GTX 280 is a dual-slot card and offers two DVI connectors and one HDTV connector. This card also offers a SPDIF connector (near PCI-Express power connectors) for HDMI audio output.
