R600 totally ownZ the ground here.  Cheesy
Sadly that ATi still didn't resolved some nasty OGL driver bugs.

Tested under Vista 32-bit and stock Radeon HD2900XT 512MB.

BTW, you should call it "Fluffy Benchmark"!  Grin

So, is this shader or texture lookup intensive code there, and how much is the branch burden, if there is any?

p.s.: anti-aliasing is absolutely redundant here -- it doesn't contribute to the IQ in any way!
p.s. #2: OMG! This thing just succeeded to shut down twice the PSU, caused by overloading of the graphics board!!

- This bench hasn't dynamic branching.

- Anti-aliasing: the startup interface will be the same for the next benchmarks. That's why there are many options. But you're right, MSAA doesn't improve image quality but makes FPS tumbling  Grin

- Cool if the bench overloads your graphics card. It has been designed to that  Cool

Yeah here is, without doubt, the worst score (from Djscan   Cheesy   ):

ericarrache > your system is 12 times more powerful than Djscan one!!!

KoDAk > thanks for your score  Wink   I'll update the table asap.

Here is the new king of the hill (taken from another forum, where I posted the benchmark):

Clocks are 830/2000 MHz.

Right here.
It's in Bulgarian language -- the largest IT enthusiasts site in my country (Bulgaria).

Obviously, ATI 2900XT seems to dominate this benchmark!
Sure it can do much more, if it wasn't those loosy OGL drivers.  Wink

I am not sure that this bench is right...

Here are a few different results... highest score is a stock clock SLI 8800 Ultra

Then a OC'd Ultra second (previous post)

AND the biggest suprise look at the Quadro FX5600!!! THE top of the line of all current Open GL cards???

Any Comments?

Here is one I would like to see the 2900XT run anyone with one have a 30" Huh?

Thanks for the thread you started in hardwarebg.com forums. It's cool  Wink

Yes you said it! ATI OpenGL drivers are a little dodgy in some situations! BTW, I guess (better: I'm sure) the soft shadows benchmark rendering bug with your 2900XT comes from a
bug in Catalyst driver in the OpenGL side of the shadow mapping functions. The shadow mapping code works perfectly with all nvidia boards, with all radeon 1k
but not at all with 2k series... Only the future and new versions of Catalyst will tell us the truth!

KoDAk > what is the exact model of your graphics card (X300 or X550) ? Both model are based on the RV370 gpu.

Did you tried the 162.50 with your gf8800 ultra ? These drivers seem faster than 163.44

I'm not a guru of pro graphics cards such as quadro or firegl, but the quadro 5600 is based on the same gpu than the 8800GTX (maybe on a slightly modified version, i don't know). From what I know, the quadro series are optimized for pro-apps through specialized drivers for those apps and certainly the GLSL or Cg code should be written differently to make the most of these drivers. So I can't answer you exactly why the quadro isn't better than the 8800 Ultra / GTX, it's not an easy question  Embarrassed
