Newb question HD 5970
« on: September 23, 2010, 07:50:33 PM »
Well... This is my first post, and it's about an issue I am facing. I've just bought a HD 5970 and I'm trying to test it using FurMark. What I'm facing is: When the test is over it always shows that I'm justing using 1 GPU and my HD 5970 has 2 GPU as everyone knows! I'm getting 4k of score what I think is preety low. My version of FurMark is 1.8.2

I've googled it but couldn't find a answer.

If anyone can help me... :D

Thanks.

To use both GPUs of HD 5970 under FurMark:
- run the etqw.exe version of FurMark
- run FurMark in FULLSCREEN

For you information, I get a score of 5420 points with my HD 5870 in 1920x1080 fullscreen, no AA, 60sec.
With your HD 5970, you should be around 7000 / 9000 points in 1920x1080.

Hmm interesting thing. I think my low avg is because of my processor... AMD Phenom 9750 Quad-Core 2.4Ghz.

And, about the 2 gpus running is a little bit  strange... When the test is going on it does show the temperature of 2 gpus... but when it's done the result only shows 1 gpu.

Pls check my result: http://ozone3d.net/benchmarks/furmark_score_180.php?id=0c868903ad3d470dae386f8809c5c209
As u can see: Number of Active GPUs: 1
And yes I am using the FurMark (Multi-GPU) etqw.exe.

Thanks

Your score of 7961 points is okay for your HD 5970.

I use a lib from AMD to get the number of active GPUs and when Crossfire is enabled, this lib sees one logical GPU. I have to improve that in the future.
