Furmark not using Multi-GPUs ???
« on: February 06, 2011, 02:03:05 PM »
I have two GTX295 Single PCB-cards in my computer.

I have used furmark with only one card and got 4822 scores.

I have used furmark with 2 card and had got only 4802 scores.
I have seen that only one GPU from the first card was getting very hot.
All other 3 GPUs had been cold and does not change their temperature.
So i think furmark is only using one GPU-testing?
This would not be a very good testing for a comparison.

For information:
I have used Multi-GPU Furmark and newest nvidia drivers and a SLI-cable is also installed. Nvidia has recognized all GPUs.

FurMark support n-way SLI (I personally tested FurMark with a 3-way SLI of GTX 480 and 2-way SLI GTX 295 and there are many tests on the web with 4-way SLI). Here are some tricks to enable SLI support with FurMark:

I'm using the newest version which is already named etqw.exe on a Crossfire Radeon HD 4890 setup (Win7 x64).

Yet, despite using it in full screen under the multi-gpu program, I get the same exact results with the multi-gpu program as I do with the single gpu program.  Both say - 1 gpu being used.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Have you tried to rename the exe in SeriousSam.exe?
What are your scores in 1280x1024 and 1920x1080 fullscreen?

I have tried to rename in SeriousSam.
I have tried to make a fullscreen.
Only a black windows appears and i have to exit with ESC.
Now Frmark doesn`t work anymore. Not in Fullscreen and not in a window.

I have looked at the NVIDIA settings and only 2 of the 4 GPUs looks to work togehter. Is that possible???
I have made a picture print of the settings and the green line is only at 2 of the 4 GTX295....

Could you help me???

I have now tested it now more:
Furmark is working from NVIDIA driver Version 197.45 to 260.99 and SLI is working only with the 2 GPUs from the first card.
In a windows and in Fullscreen it works without renaming the files, but only the first 2 GPUs from the first card.
How could i test Physx? I have tried to use Physx on the second card but i don`t know if it works.
260.99 is very unstable but it depends not in furmark. It is the verison from NVIDIA itself.
But with the newest driver 266.58 Furmark is working no longer !!!
It hangs when i want to start...

To test PhysX, I just released a new tool:

http://www.geeks3d.com/20110225/msi-kombustor-2-0-0-opengl-4-0-benchmark-physx-tessellation-geometry-instancing-furmark/

The benchmark has the CPU PhysX or GPU PhysX option so you'll be able to know whether your second card is processing PhysX or not.

I have still a problem when i want to use Furmark or MSI with the newest drivers from Nvidia 266.58.
I have tested with Windows XP 32bit and 64bit with the same result.
Older drivers would be not stable at my system.
When i want to start with fullscreen only a black screen appears.
When i want to start in a window i can read on left upper side first "Init in progress" an then after a few seconds "running" but the window is still black without a test running.
