GTX 260 Crashes at 2mins
« on: September 30, 2010, 10:26:05 PM »
I ran the test four times over the last week. Each time I got the same result. It goes to 8000-9000 frames and around 86 degrees in roughly two minutes then my screen goes black (went red once and green once too) and I have to manual reboot.

Is this a overheating issue with my card or what? Not sure what these test results mean. I ran the test because I have recently had problems playing Starcraft 2. I can play maybe 5 mins before it will freeze.

I guess the ultimate question is, do I need a new card based on these results or is this a fixable problem?

This is my card, I have had it two years, with no problems and all the sudden it is acting weird.

Certainly a problem with the VGA cooler. Maybe you could remove it, change the thermal paste and put it in place again...

It could be the power supply but you didn't say what wattage it is or what video card you have and if your using 2 or more in SLI mode.
