What am I doing wrong?

Abit AX78 Beta 14 BIOS
AMD Athlon X2 5000+ BE @ 3GHz
4GB (2x2GB) G.Skill PC28000 @ 1000MHz
MSI nVidia GTX260 c216 OCv4 @ 655/1050MHz

Windows 7 x64 Ultimate
Various Drivers: 186.18, 187.66, 190.15, 191.07 and 195.39

1440x900 - No MSAA

My scores are ranging from 5400-5550 depending on the drivers... but all around that seems pathetic and low in comparison to the top scores.

So, what gives?  ???

Edit: I discovered the 'average score' chart dictating that I should be ~3300 with my GTX260 at the default 1280x1024 resolution. Dropping down to that resolution to do the benchmark actually lowered my score to an average of ~4350 down from the ~5500 I was seeing with the newest nVidia drivers.

It seems a bit baffling that I'd lose score going down in resolution, but that still leaves me with an above-average score - which I am happy about.

It's also confusing that the 4870 scores so much higher - or is that possibly due to a higher number of people using that card to 'cheat' their scores up higher, resulting in a much higher average?
