[BUG?] Furmark losses power when Distibuted network is running
« on: October 23, 2009, 09:23:53 AM »
this only happens on machines with nvidia GFXcards.  I've  also tested on ati (desktop and laptop) and with Intel onboard (G31)  with no issues

If Dnetc.exe is running (idle cpu priority) it gets 99% af cpu  and Furmark only eats %1.  the FPS has a MAJOR drop and also curret drawn and GPU temp drops.

i'm trying to make an easy stress testing for a litlee PC production and the combination of DnetC and furmark would be so easy and nice to work due to Furmaks easy CLI interface end DnetC's automated Core utilization.

this combinations it much more harder then just runnings 3dmark2006 in loop. it pull more power and heats up more

Honestly I have no idea about this problem. Try to raise FurMark render thread priority with the command line:

furmark.exe /rendering_thread_priority=256
or
furmark.exe /app_process_priority=256

256 is the highest level of priority for a thread / processus.

I hope this parameter is still valid...

i tried with both 256 and 255

It didn't help.

i lesser fix is to set Dnetc to use threads = core-1
However fix seems not  to be enoguh  on a core i5 system with gtx275

however removing affinity on dnetc from one core. and furmark is back in full power.

i believe this is somehow a nvidia driver issues. as it only happens on nvidia based graphics cards

this "bug" i still there in version 1.8.0 and with the newest dnetc.

so far my only fix is to remove affinoty from core0 (even if it only one virutal core sharing the physical core with dnetc) the furmakr  comes back into power

i can se the furmark start up affinity is hardcored to core0 i dont know if theer is a reason for that.
