Gigabyte GTX 295 Score
« on: January 15, 2009, 06:54:44 PM »
Hi 2 days ago i bought  a Gigabyte GTX 295..

I am having great deal of problems trying to install 181.20 ..

currently i am running on vista 32 the 185.20 drivers.

The scores:

Settings (core/shader/memory)

576/1242/999 : 7992 (FPS:115/176/133)

651/1403/1127: 9001 (FPS:128/198/150)

666/1436/1136 : 9200 (FPS:131/202/154)

Is the score normal or not?

Please anybody that can help me if i am on the correct road to exploit my beast..

Yes I think these scores are good. At the end of FurMark's homepage there is a comparative table. A GeForce 280 SLI overcloked is around 9400. So around 9000 with your GTX 285 is ok. Maybe under winxp, you will be able to get better scores...

Yo dude check this out I am having the same problem as you, only difference is I have the BFG version.

"okay here is my benchmark from furmark running at stock clock speeds with the fan turned up to 90%... my card has got to be a pos...
http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/score.php?id=387af4c8ada0b74b2fc7a0d143107244

here is an example of another person's bench with the same card and settings:
http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/score.php?id=3405213955f0428066ce2ef82946e946

and here is the average score:
http://www.ozone3d.net/benchmarks/fur/#comptable

this is really stupid I don't feel like RMAing this thing when I just bought it, I should have just stuck with mac lol. "

http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?p=1033771249#post1033771249

I don't know what the deal is when the site says the average score for our card is supposed to be 15k.  If you find out any information please let me know.

Thanks :)

Hello, I have the same problem here:

EVGA GTX 295 / Furmark 1.65 / Vista Ultimate x64 / Driver 182.06 / QX9650@stock@3000Mhz

Score 7946 o3marks
fps min:96
fps max: 176
fps average: 133
time: 60s
resolution: 1280x1024 / MSAA:0x
renderer: nvidia geforce gtx 295
active gpus: 1
drivers: 7.15.11.8206 (2-9-2009)
cpu: intel core 2 extreme cpu x9650 @3.00ghz
cpu speed: 3005 mhz
os: windows vista ver. 6.0 build 6001 (service pack 1)

I think that the problem is that the 2nd gpu isn´t used during the benchmark!!!

We should have 15000 o3marks, so 2*7500=15000 03mark.

I think I am right because I had a 4870x2 gpu inside and I benched it, I got:

active gpus: 2

So in fact only one gpu is used and this is a bug in furmark. I hope the programmer will fix this soon, because this is my favorite benchmark, vantage gives my error while scanning. Another benchmark I ´ve got is the crysis benchmark, so if you got the same benchmark we could compare our results...

sincerly, md_1972

Did not know if a bump or new thread, decided to bump.

WTF!!! New system just assembled last week.  This system should rock, but it only rumbles.  What is up with the clock settings?  Is it a reporting error with 1.70 furmark?

This is out of the box. Installed the latest drivers.  Have a Gigabyte udp4 motherboard.  I thought matching the Motherboard and graphics card would be a good idea.  But so far I am not impressed with this system.  It is much better then my p4 with a 7300GT, but I was expecting a race horse and got a greyhound.

Help, I am sure there is some setting or switch that I am missing.

Thanks
Z.

Hmmm odd score that m8, surely that card should spank my sys even though im running sli ?
On default res i got over 7000 and below is lower res run which compared to top end cards i would say done very well, i see your running nice cpu as well, don't figure tbh.

Building new sys this week (if i get time) based on Phenom II 550 + M4N82 Deluxe, was going to get same card as you or at least 275 but seeing these scores makes me want to test these 2 8800GT's in my new sys first.

Mine is a 295gtx made by EVGA but I am suffering terrible furmark scores as well..

Showing only 1 active GPU
and a less important point - its showing my OS as WinServer2007? I am on Win7 Home premium..
