What's in my cupboard
« on: November 01, 2006, 08:33:50 PM »
Okay so here I will just post some screenshots of my old unfinished demos, I've already planned to update them when I will have some time, until then they will remain where they are... So to make them a little happy I will post some images and comment about'em.

To begin with I will choose the oldest of all, one of Hyperions firsts demo ( under version 1.0). It is a demo about solar system, I did this demo because I like astronimia. In it you can see planet moving around the sun and  I also made that at a point of the demo the a blackhole eats ours poor sun, sob sob... There was bump mapping in its main feature as well as vertice displacement for the sun as well as the blackhole.

Here are the screens

here comes next
"The mysty Forest, in it you can found the wise old tree the runic sword stuck in the sacred well in other words the usual heroic fantasy features.
This demo was nearly finished I just wanted to ad some sort of gate and I never did it so now that time has passed its code need a little update. So I'll do that as well as the gate one day to finally release it.

next propells you in some Middle age field, this demo was made to show how to setup shadow volumes, bump mapping and do some interaction with the surrounding object such as clicking on the door runs a script to open it etc.. this is the demo that will comes last when updating the code since I don't have feeling for this (nothing special about its design, atmosphere..)

the Lava Cave Demo was to be connected to the previous and to some other but out of time again I had to carry my attention to somthing else. I really like this demo which was with the mysty forest one the best looking demo (among the old ones). In it you can see the frightful dragon defending his lair against everyone silly enough to dare enter it. In the center of the lava there is a platform accessible through a bridge (don't forget the dragon!) If you can reach it I'm sure you can find of treasures there.

Kabooom!!

Next is my Nuclear blast, I've always thought the one in Akira anime was very cool, so I decided to do my own (hehe) the building as well as the background were my pole of attention so they are pretty simple. The interest of that demo is how the explosion evolves (it expands pushing amounts of dirt away then reveals a mushroom shape) and the interaction with the camera (when you enter it.)

and finally my Cats away demo in which the poor little kitty is waiting quietly on her island for some visit. Lately I added a very cool model (the frog) made by an excellent friend of mine. This was the first Hyperion demo using cell shading. It will certainly be soon release since there are only a few things to do to make it work as expected.

Don't forget to give me your comment about the demos so that maybe I will modify my updating priority list
