Well ya. ATI throttled Furmark for obvious reasons. This product shortens the life of cards when run for extended periods. It is the heaviest test you can hit a card with. I have tested extensively with looped game demos and all kinds of benchmarks looped. Furmark for 3 minutes causes GPU's to reach much hotter temps than anything I can throw at my cards.
3 minutes of Fullscreen Furmark (pre 8.8's or renamed EXE) 1680x1050 (no AA) = 97C
10 minutes of Devil May Cry benchmark looped (multiple tests with adjusted or no AA settings) = 90C
10 minutes of Mass Effect with and without AA applied = 85C
I certainly would not run this thing overnight with my 8800GT or my 4870 because I know it will f#$&k my card up in the long run.
