It seems ATi finally resolved some major OGL issues with the preliminary 7.9 Cat's release (default clocks):

Yes mate, I confirm, ATI has fixed the shadow mapping bug on Radeon 2k series  8)
Now my 2400 pro runs the soft shadows benchmark!
Now my shadow mapping code works fine on every graphic cards so I can release the new GPU Caps very soon  ;)
